  1. Select a 3-Way Valve option from the Valves taskbar.
Note: The 3-Way valves is located in the submenu which contains a variety of miscellaneous valves.

    The Properties dialog displays.

Note: If the Tag Dialog Prompt option is disabled in the PID Document dialog, then you will not be prompted with this dialog at any point in the procedure. A tag number will automatically be assigned to the valve.

  3. Expand the Details section of the dialog.
  4. In the Properties tab make any necessary changes to the component properties in the corresponding fields.
  5. When finished defining the valve properties, click OK to place it.
  6. Select an insertion point in a pipe run where a run is to be branched off.
  7. Use the mouse to select the mirror point for the branch port of the valve.

The Pipe Run Properties dialog displays. At this point, you have the option to draw the pipe run for the branch end of the valve. Follow the following steps to draw the pipe run, or click Cancel and skip to Step 8 to continue with the valve placement.

    1. Enter a value for the new pipe run, or accept the default.
    2. Expand the Details section of the dialog.
    3. In the Properties tab make any necessary changes to the pipe run properties in the corresponding fields.
    4. When finished defining the pipe run properties, click OK to draw it.
    5. Select the points for the pipe run in the drawing.
    6. When the run is complete, right-click to end the pipe run command and return to the valve placement procedure.
  8. Pick a point in the drawing to place the valve's main size annotation. The Properties dialog (if enabled) displays prompting you to place another valve.
Note: If you choose not to place the size annotation, right-click to end the command.
